Folklorico 1 is an introduction to rhythm, music and dance. Students identify songs and where they are from. Basic steps, arm movements and posture are introduced. Students will experience their first performing experiences on stage!
Folklorico 3
9-11 years old.
Folklorico 3 will focus more in dance technique to improve rhythm and dance performance. Students identify songs and where they are from. Basic steps are introduced and arm movements in preparation to skirt technique will start.
Mexico 2000 has different groups and schedules, the following information is given as to receive a better idea of the different levels and classes.

Folklorico 9
"M2K Dance Company 2"
This group is a fast-paced setting for the advanced youth and adult dancer, level of knowledge must be high. This group offers complete "Cuadros", or dance regions, that represent a specific region of Mexico. Performance expectations are at professional levels. Costuming is generally provided with required fundraising from all in the group.
Classes for students starting at 5 yrs. old; from beginners through professional levels. Classes are two hours per week.
Classes will present at least 3 recitals per year and will have the opportunity to perform at local festivals and cultural events. New students can start any time of the year, from January-November.
Mission Statement.
The mission of Mexico 2000 Ballet Folklórico is to provide a healthy, fun, educational and professional environment in which children of all ages can learn about the Mexican culture and its history through traditional, regional dances, music and history. Our main objective is to instill cultural pride and awareness in our youth while educating the general public about the Hispanic culture's contribution to the community. We also assist in training and challenging dancers to develop their talents and to promote a vision for academic excellence through the arts.

Ballet Folklorico Mexico 2000
Class Levels / Niveles de Clases
11-13 years old / Beginners
Folklorico classes for beginners. Students will learn basic steps and combinations. Dances from different regions at a beginner level.
Ballet Folklorico (Mexican Traditional Dance)
Folklorico 6
14-17 years old / Advanced Youth Company.
This Youth group is a challenging class even for the student dancer with some experience. Information on music, songs, costuming and history is given for a full understanding of what is being learned. Strong emphasis is given to technique and stage presence. This students can become the "M2K Dance Company" Understudies.
This program is designed for those adults with little or no experience that have the desire to learn how to dance. Our Adult group also performs at all recitals and community events. Folklorico for Teachers
This program is designed for those adult beginners that have the desire to learn how to dance and even how to teach children.
Ideal for school teachers that need to teach and or stage a dance or sets of dances for their school classes. This class has a six weeks duration.

Folklorico 2
5-8 years old.
Folklorico 2 has additional rhythms, music and dances. Students identify songs and where they are from. There is more focus on basic steps, arm movement and stage presence.
Dance Classes Mission Statement:
To develop an appreciation and pride in the Hispanic art form of Folkloric Dance through a structured curriculum.
To teach students dance techniques associated with selected regional dances with their respective history and origin.
To teach Folkloric dance students, at their own level, dance techniques from different regions in Mexico that will include; Footwork, Skirt Work, Stage Presence, Costume Coordination, Dance Origins and History.
In addition, students will learn to serve as ambassadors of "Mexican Culture" in their respective communities by creating awareness through participation in community and school events.
Dance sessions will be conducted to re-affirm family values, strengthen discipline, build self-esteem, promote teamwork and encourage self-expression through the arts.

14-17 years old / Intermediate
Folklorico 5 is an even more intense dance class which require a minimum of 2-4 years of dance experience. This class will start combining advanced dance steps into more complex sequences and dances.
